Welcome to Indonesia Ecoventures |
|
At Indonesia Ecoventure, we invite you to “take a walk on the wild side” and explore the exciting possibilities offered by the most bioculturally diverse place on earth. Where else can you find thousands of unique mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects, plants, fungi, corals, crustaceans, fish, and other marine creatures in a land-water continuum peopled by hundreds of distinct ethnic groups, each speaking their own languages, and practicing unique cultural traditions? As the world's largest archipelago stretching across over 17,500 islands and 5100 km, Indonesia's biocultural diversity is so vast that every year new terrestrial or marine species are discovered, and previously unknown customs are uncovered.
From glacier-topped mountain peaks in West Papua to still-active volcanoes on Java, from Stone-Age peoples to cutting-edge artisans, Indonesia offers a mind-boggling range of natural and cultural landscapes to explore. As an ecoadventurer, you can explore the heights of cloud forests, or the depths of newly charted caves; the rigors of a Class IV river run, or the quiet pleasures of a coastline kayaking trip. As a cultural traveler, you can witness centuries-old rituals on Bali (or Sulawesi, or Java, or Sumatra, or Flores, or Sumba, or…), listen to intricate orchestral melodies, or taste traditional delicacies handmade by a friendly villager.
If you have ever dreamed of lush tropical lagoons, coral reefs teaming with multicolored marine life or rainforest canopies echoing with wildlife, our tours can take you there. Or perhaps you've always wanted to track primates as they swing and hoot from one tree to the next, or watch the mating dance of a Paradise Fly-catcher, or count the ticks on the scaly hide of a Komodo dragon. Or maybe your idea of a good time is learning how to weave a traditional basket, or search out new tropical fruits, or help an elephant take a bath. Tell us your dreams, and we will do everything we can to help you make them a reality.
